Floods
|
Floods are one of the most common natural disasters to occur in our region due to terrain and climate. Flooding occurs as a result of steady heavy rain that saturates the ground over the course of several hours. Rapidly rising water levels in rivers or streams can also cause flooding known as "flash flooding." There are steps and practices that each resident of our region should know and be prepared to execute at any given time. Together we can eliminate some of the disastrous effects of flooding.
